It looks like Bernhard Schulte will only undertake one voyage on the KIX Service, and the vessel which she replaced, the Seasmile, will return to take her place.

NPDL shipping are starting a new dedicated shipping service linking Tauranga and Auckland with Noumea and Port Vila on a 15 day frequency. They will use the Capitaine Magellan IMO 9188934 on this run.

The second vessel in Maersk's NZ coastal and Fiji service is Maersk Newhaven IMO 9215880.

NPDL shipping will also use these vessels for containers through Tauranga to Fiji.
Capitaine Dampier is phacing out of the service and Capitaine Tasman will carry breakbulk and containers from Tauranga and Auckland. She will no longer call at Noumea.

Capitaine Dampier will do one voyage to Noumea before Capitaine Magellan takes over at the end of April.

Maersk also seem to have a ring-in to Asia, the Express Argentina ETA Tauranga 3.3.21. They are struggling to load the containers they have committed to, wiped out the opposition and now "strangling" NZ exports with their service struggles. An extra-loader is the least they can do.

Southern Moana is to transfer from the Auspac service to replace Southern Trader on the Samoa/Tonga trade.

Southern Trader will replace Capitaine Magellan on the Tahiti trade, and also call Nukualofa on every voyage.

Capitaine Magellan is starting the new Noumea and Port Vila schedule.

In July, Southern Moana will be replaced by Capitaine Dampier after she returns from a lengthy survey in drydock.

When Island Chief returns from her drydock in China this month she will have been renamed "Imua".

There will be two new vessels on the Auspac service replacing Southern Moana and Kokopo Chief. The latter vessel is finally joining her sisters on the scrapyard beach at Alang.

Maersk Newhaven is supposed to be starting her new schedule in NZ at the end of March. However Maersk have her sailing from Hong Kong to Qingdao and then Balboa, arriving 9 April. Have they changed vessels? She is still showing on the Maersk schedule as MDV Andah, which is a "holding" name.

There a two more extra loaders due in Timaru and Tauranga. They are Kota Laris IMO 9351048, and Carl Schulte IMO 9665683.

Hansa Freyburg, on charter to ANL, has loaded empty 40 foot containers in Auckland for discharge in Napier. She will then load containers in Napier and Auckland before heading to Shekou in China.

NZPDL schedules have changed again:

Southern Trader will stay on the Samoa/Tonga trade.

Capitaine Magellan will stay on Tahiti until 22 June when she will be replaced by Southern Moana. At this time they will add Nukualofa to the schedule.

Noumea will be serviced by Sofrana vessels until at least end of June. There will be no direct Port Vila call yet. Maybe Capitaine Magellan will start her new Noumea/Port Vila schedule from July.

Maersk Newhaven is not going to be deployed on Maersk's new NZ coastal/Fiji service. She has been replaced by Maersk Nadi (ex CSCL Santiago) IMO 9386017. She is sailing from Hong Kong and is due in Timaru on 30 March.
