Peace Boat ship disposal (Ocean Dream)
« on: January 01, 2021, 05:44:33 PM »
In September 2020, Peace Boat bought Princess Cruises' Sun Princess to replace the Ocean Dream and Zenith. Both had been chartered from Pullmantur. The Ocean Dream had sailed for Peace boat since 2012 and Zenith since 2019. But when Pullmantur went bankrupt in July 2020, both vessels would have to be returned to Royal Caribbean by December. Zenith has been returned and is laid up in Greece alongside sister ship Horizon to one day restart Pullmantur.

However, the Ocean Dream was sold for scrap in Alang, India. The former Tropicale, the first purpose-built vessel for Carnival Cruise Line has been beached in Alang today. She will be scrapped next to her former Carnival fleetmate the Grand Celebration.
