So far as I can see, the only people who have said that SATOSHI has been sold for scrap at Alang are the strange people behind the project - who appear not to have done their homework properly in the first place. I suspect they are lying low while lawyers circle with claims from (perhaps a few) disappointed investors.  We don't know who "they" are at the moment, though crew and fuel are presumably being paid for.  Let's just see.

Hi all,

SATOSHI is now leaving Colon with destination Malta ETA 23.03.
Letˋ s see what will happen next. Aliaga, Alang or working as a cruise ship again...

Best regards from Hamburg

Saw her at Manzanillo two days ago:

She looked rather shabby.

Cheers,

It seems like they didn't let her thru the Panama Canal, so they're taking a different route to Alang. Regardless, her condition looks sad. With the pandemic, it's not likely that she can sail again.

Her AIS destination shows Marsaxlokk, Malta. So maybe she'll stop there to refuel before continuing to Alang.

I hope the owners still have enough "ancient forms of money" to pay for the travel cost to wherever she will end.

SATOSHI arrived Bar, Montenegro this morning, after apparent bunkering stop off Malta.
Reported - but only I think from the bitcoin owners, Ocean Builders, and not confirmed in the market - that she is sold to "a cruise company", and will be laid up at Bar.  No sign of new owners yet on Equasis.

Her class society states the owner as Wake Asset Co Ltd, which are rumoured to have Greek interests behind it. Although the market gossip is denying that Iliopoulos/Seajet bought the vessel, everything else seems uncertain for the moment. Even a demolition sale could still be on the cards.

Brgrds,
Herbert

Well, her sister ships Columbus and Karnika have already been sold for scrap to Alang, India, so I think it's likely that Satoshi will join her sisters on the beaches of Alang.

Reports are coming in that Satoshi has in fact been sold to a new start-up cruise company. That's all the information that I have at the moment on this. It would be nice to think that she may yet escape the breakers and live on to cruise again.

I'm starting to suspect that Satoshi was bought by SeaJets.

Doesn't follow the SeaJets pattern - park in Greece, single-ship company managed by SeaJets, Piraeus.
Albania may indeed be next door to Greece, but Bar is not easy-access from Piraeus.  The new owner, is BVI-registered Wake Asset Co Ltd, is c/o Columbia Cruise Services, Cyprus

There was idle speculation about SeaJets weeks ago, based only on a rumour of Greek backing, but also a denial. Of course it cannot be completely excluded.

Have you seen something more recent that indicates a SeaJets connection?

Well, SeaJets bought and resold her sister ship Columbus for scrap to Alang, India after their other sister ship Karnika was also sold for scrap, so I think it's likely that Satoshi was bought by SeaJets just so she could also be scrapped alongside her sister ships.
