Sinking of the GOLDEN DAWN in 1983
« on: August 23, 2020, 01:07:24 PM »
Hello all,

I'm looking for information (IMO, technical data, history, photos) of the Greek passenger ship GOLDEN DAWN which sank on February 24, 1983 with the loss of 26 passengers off the coast of Euboea, Greece. I've been searching for info about her on the web but can find nothing useful.

Thank you in advance,
Aleksi

Interesting, the name of the ship is not listed in Lloyds 1983 Casualty Returns

Hi Aleksi,

have a look at CHRISSI AVGI (IMO 7053082), which translates to something like 'Golden Dawn'.

Thank you for your replies, Pieter and Helmut. For some reason the ship name was translated into English, no wonder I didn't find anything.

Now I even found a photo of her:

and more can be found on Google photo search.

Brgds,
Aleksi

Glad that the solution is there.

The casualty Returns on PDF (poorly scanned)  can be found here:
