Inland Tanker or Barge.

CHEMGAS 23 is shown on site as "Inland Tanker" but both entries (and mine) show it being pushed by an Inland Tug
Binnenvaart shows no propulsion.
I have a photo to upload but which category?

Chemgas refer to it as a barge.It has no motive power of its own but uses a dedicated pusher tug. Other similar vessels are shown in the barges category.

So this pusher tug is permanently associated with Chemgas 23 and I will enter it as "Inland Tanker" like the other 2 entries.

Pusher Thera was specifically designed to operate with Chemgas 22 and 23. I believe sister pusher is Toba .Someone might confirm?

THERA does not work exclusively with CHEMGAS 23 (and presumably vice versa)

OK  Change of mind!
As there are two possible entries, the barge and the tug, I am going to enter as a "Barge" as I am unsure of the pusher tug name.

Russell, please look at the site standards for inland vessels:

SUB CATEGORIES

The main category will be kept empty
Photos must be posted to one of the following subcategories.
INLAND DRY CARGO VESSELS:
Subcategory for general cargo inland vessels, inland Ro-Ro vessels, containerships, cargo barges.
INLAND TANKERS:
Subcategory for chemical and product tankers, gas tankers, cement carriers, bunkering and water tankers, vegetable/edible oil tankers, tank barges.

The chemgas barges should be posted to the inland tankers subcategory.
If you see the barge and the pushing tug on the photo, it should be posted to the inland tugs subcategory.

Ooops.  A good thread for changing minds! I should have checked our own guidance. Sorry.

It depends on what is mostly seen in the image:
* mostly the barge (including the non-powered bow strap-on): inland tanker - these will typically include all bow-aspect pictures
* mostly the pusher (or at least most of the pusher is visible): inland tugs

Where both are clearly seen (and the tug not just a dot in the distance) I am still uncertain.  I know that some have been put in "tug with tow", but such general ship-type categories are not meant to include inland waterways vessels.

I wonder whether the main category should be used for mixed types - there seems to be no provision for photos of more than one vessel type.

I'm moving this thread to the "Site related..." forum and would welcome views on how these types of "mixed" inland vessels could best be organised.
