Server migration
« on: July 23, 2020, 07:36:28 PM »
Greetings,

We have completed a server migration today for the ShipSpotting website. This is an effort to improve performance and stability and to prepare for adding new features in the future.

Please let us know if there are any issues regarding the functionality of the website as well as performance.

If any issues are detected, we will try to address them as soon as possible.

Thank you.

I have just been looking at the new photos posted and all recent ones at least up to page 12 have zero hits. Seems a bit unusual. Cheers.

Also many photos will not go to full screen. Think you have problems with this migration.

Or in my case opening photos to full screen takes a wee while, line at a time as the photo opens...

Thank you for the reports so far.

We have already sorted out the issue with the number of hits not updating. Please confirm if it is working correctly now.

As for the missing middle or full screen photos, they seem to have been uploaded during the maintenance period, when there was a warning advising that no uploads should be performed. Nevertheless, those missing photos seem to be recoverable, and we are currently working on recovering them.

Sorry, I could not figure out what the issue is. The like functions seems to be showing, both the Facebook one above the photo and ShipSpotting's own like function below the photo. Can you please clarify?

Seems to be an issue with DB query times - It took 32 seconds to perform the 30~ queries needed to load this page.
Enough torque to restart a dead planet! OOW with an unlimited CoC looking for work. :)
