Welcome Tomas
I agree that BRITANNIC ex-WAR DAMSON is most likely.  Here's a photo of sister-ship BARON SEMPILL ex-WAR PLUM: https://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/306353/title/war-plum2f-baron-sempill-ii/cat/510

This BRITANNIC was certainly operating in the area in June 1940.  See the Arnold Hague's database: http://www.convoyweb.org.uk/ports/index.html?search.php?vessel=BRITANNIC~armain
She was convoyed to Gibraltar April 1940, and left there for Liveprool in July - and in the meantime moving around the W Med independently. But connot pinpoint the exact dates that she was at S

Just to clarify original name= WAR DAMSON. Position of bombing/sinking approx 600 km west of Gibraltar.
