The vessel appearing on the KIX Schedule as ANL Australia has now been named as Tianjin Bridge (IMO 9282962).

It also appears that Aglaia is to be replaced shortly on the Japan Service.

Olomana is leaving Swire's Trans Tasman schedule and transferring back to Matson's Pacific Island run replacing Island Chief. There is no updated schedule from Swire, so don't know if Island Chief will go on the Trans Tasman. Melanesian Chief has one more round trip to do before she is replaced.

Mia Schulte IMO 9676735 replaces Kwangsi in Swire's South East Asia service. I presume Kwangsi will now follow her sister Kweilin to the breakers.
It looks like Island Chief will replace Olomana on the Trans Tasman run. A replacement for Melanesian Chief is yet to be announced.

Coastal Carrier was towed around to the slipway this morning for the final demolition. All the superstructure has been cut up and is laying in the body of the barge. :'(

Matson, along with Swire, are reverting to a 3 vessel operation to the Pacific Islands. They are using Liloa II, Island Chief and Olomana.
Olomana did her last Transtasman run and then loaded containers of cement at Marsden Point for discharge in Auckland and transhipment onto Moana Chief.
This makes things interesting for Swire's transtasman schedule, as Melanesian Chief is on her last run, and there is no forward schedule.
There is also no vessel to take Wilsons Cement containers from Marsden Point to Lyttelton. However I did see a container spreader loaded into the barge Kaipara Karrier IV and she was taken from Marsden Wharf to Wynyard and returned later in the day. They may use her to tranship the containers of cement at Auckland?
Anyone have news on this?

Swire have published their latest schedules.
Melanesian Chief is on her last TransTasman run before heading to the breakers. She will be replaced by BBC Nagasaki IMO 9559872. They are going down to a one vessel operation and only calling Auckland and Tauranga, omitting Marsden Point and Lyttelton. So we have the problem of getting Wilson's Cement containers from Marsden Point to Lyttelton.

On the South East Asia schedule Mia Schulte will only do one voyage as replacement for Kwangsi. She will then be replaced by Shaoshing IMO 9614490.

I wonder if they will ship it on the Aotearoa Chief. She is also a Swire vessel and Lyttelton has bulk facilities.
Watch this space I suppose.
