Marine Traffic
« on: May 13, 2020, 08:08:49 PM »
Since this morning, Marine Traffic has not been giving any times on way-points and is asking for an upgrade to access this information.   This has always been available on the free version.  Any one else noticed this or is it a glitch with my search engine?

Another Marine traffic question

The aircraft carrier anchored in the Solent is showing as the Prince of Wales on MT but some facebook images show her as the Queen Elizabeth, can anyone confirm which she is?

Regards

Bob

MT are also showing both QE and PoW (as "British Warship") moored near each other in the Solent.

Mind you, according to MT, QE was tucked up in Lymington Marina (onshore!) on the 11th.  I knew that she could be hidden if one really tried.

You're allowed out now, Bob!

Thanks guys but still none the wiser  :)
There's only one aircraft carrier out there but MT, as you say, shows both carriers plus a frigate (pretty sure only one carrier was showing earlier). latest webcam attached.

As for going out, my kids are still very protective and think we should see how the "R" goes for a couple of weeks before we go out, probably good advice.

Take care everyone

Regards

Bob

seems my post got highjacked - it is really about whether Marine Traffic have changed what you get for free.  i.e. times on the way-points.....

that's OK Bob, but I would still like to know if MT have changed their rules.  My Ship Tracking shows HMS Queen Elizabeth in Solent.  Also Portsmouth QHM shows QE at Charlie Anchorage, sailing for Nab tomorrow at 08.00.

Thanks Allan
Yes, noticed QE sailed this morning but PoW still showing with a frigate but nothing on the webcam, very strange.
I also get the same issues on the way-points, asking to upgrade. Perhaps they are working on the site because MT opens in satellite view rather than standard view for the last couple of days but that's only a click of the mouse to rectify.

Yep, its rather annoying, cos I still find it the best one to use, but having to find alternatives at present.    Equasis glitch seemed to be due to updating, so maybe its the same with MT, can't say its worth

Going off tilt a little bit, according to MT Fram left Bergen, ATD at 12.02hrs 15/05/2020 and arrived Fiskarstranda, ATA at 12.05.
I did ask questions a week or so about odd movements by Fram so it seems that there have been problems for some time. Suspect it may be to do with Covid 19 situation but really who knows. It is a free service to most users so I wonder if there are any members paying for MT service that could tell us otherwise?
