Warning when uploading pictures.
« on: July 16, 2020, 01:53:26 PM »
When trying to upload pictures the last two days I get following warning:
Photo resolution should be between (1024px x 768px) and (4000px x 4000px)

I'm doing nothing different then when normally uploading pictures.
I always make sure that resolution is within the 4000 pixel limit.
Not sure where the 1024x768 is coming from now.
I can see other pictures recently uploaded by different members having more then 1024x768.

Please advise.

Cheers,
Roy

Can you confirm the photos are between those ranges - I usually set my photos for the lowest but have had the warning occasionally when right on the lower limit. 1024x768 is the lowest permitted.

I've just added a photo of SVITZER VALIANT with dimensions of 1152x768 with no warning.

Site standards need amending?
1. Size of image: The resolution must be between 768 x 768 pixels and 4000 x 4000 pixels, and the file size maximum is 4MB.

The lower limits are indeed 748x748 (changed at the last review to allow the same minimum size for portrait and landscape formats) and I've tested them  - working properly, as for Patrick.  The upper limits were not changed.

@MO Roy: If the problem is still recurring, do you know what are the sizes of the photos you are trying to load?
Looking at what you normally load (3,998px

The last picture I tried to upload this morning was within the maximum limits (I always make sure they are less then 4000 pixels any direction); 3991x2404 pixels with total size of 1.7mb.

As said I'm doing the same as always, i.e. resize my pictures so that they are within the limits.
I posted so far 31 pictures this leave without any problems and then suddenly the warning as stated above started appearing.

Cheers,
Roy

Not sure what happened. Tried to upload same picture as this morning but further downsized and succeeded.
Then uploaded the same as tried this morning with same size and also succeeded.

Very strange as I had the warning on several occasions in the past two days.

Cheers,
Roy

How silly it may have sounded especially when uploading started working normal again without obvious reason some time ago, I currently have the same problem again.
Tried to upload a picture with 3996x2562 pixels without success. Lowered the size to 2571x1649 pixels and the same warning popped up.
This seems rather strange.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Roy

Again today, after uploading quite some pictures I had the same issue.
After quitting Safari (web-browser) and deleting all cookies and cashes and history from Safari I was able to upload again.
So still not sure what causes the issue, but at least there is a cure at hand.
Anybody else using Safari having this issue after uploading many pictures?
Cheers,
Roy
