Tug NOVE
« on: July 02, 2019, 04:21:24 PM »
Does anyone know what the Cypriot tug NOVE, IMO: 8218233 is towing?  According to Marine Traffic her voyage began in Sydney, Nova Scotia 5th May and her destination is the scrapyard in Alang.  For three days she hove to 320nm East of St. Helena Island in the South Atlantic and then proceeded to Walvis Bay where it is believed that she has bunkered and has for the past two days been transiting to and fro at + - 4kts outside of the port entrance with her vessel in tow. A vague and distant photo from shore shows that it is either a passenger vessel or a ferry.  The NOVE is awaiting better weather to transit the Cape of Good Hope.  Can anyone shed a light on the dead ship, such as a current name/previous name(s, an IMO number/MMSI Number etc please?

Thanks
Bruce (ZD7VC)
