The latest Evergreen Ultra Large Container Ship, Ever Glory, has just sailed from her maiden call at the Port of Felixstowe.
The ship is one of the first to have arrived with an as-delivered scrubber system, the white structure just ahead of the funnel, which cleans sulphur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the exhaust gas generated as a result of combustion processes in marine engines. The system also removes particles from the exhaust, and the remaining exhaust that you can see in the last film is largely composed of steam and less dangerous gases.
