1978 blt sisters Isis & Burhou I - Update
« on: April 04, 2019, 09:28:22 AM »
Regarding the mv Corneligue (imo 7711969, Togo flagged) ex Isis and the mv Burhou I (imo 7726897, Pan flagged) I note after their sale by Great Glen Shipping (Scotland) mid and late 2018 they have now seen movement from lay up in the Rotterdam area?

Burhou I was noted passing Gibraltar east bound 02/04/19?, and the Isis (now Corneligue) towards the end February had plans for sailing for further trading in the Caribs / South America with a destination of Paramaribo noted?

Any news here welcome.

Thank you all!

Don't believe all that you see on AIS. BURHOU I is still at Slikkerveer on 6 April.

Am I correct in noting that the BURHOU I (BURHO) remains "for sale" locally via Dick van der Kamp while the Corneligue is currently "under arrest" as of March this year?

CORNELIGUE was still laid-up at 's-Gravendeel near Dordrecht mid May 2019, see my photo while passing on a river cruise ship:

In that same area are vessels waiting to be scrapped.

I think that is taken in the northern part of the 's-Gravendeel basin?  If so, that is more of a general-purpose lay-up facility for smaller seagoing vessels and larger inland barges, rather than a demolition  waiting room.  Only a few of them go eventually to the scrapyards in the southern arm; most are resold, often after judicial sale.

The Northern part of the harbour is for Lay up for long (cold lay-up) and short (hot Lay-up) time.

In the middle part en first part of the south of the harbour are for scrap.
The south end for loading scrap in barges and coasters.

Cornelique still in same position in the northern part of the basin

Good day, Is there any update to hand on the movements of the Corneligue (Ex Isis)?

I note Burho (Ex Burhou I) remains for sale via Van Der Kamp Ship Sales. Like many vessels of her age and size maybe she will cross the Atlantic and trade in the Caribs / South America?

Thank you.

Good day All, Whilst I see the Burho (Ex Burhou I) remains for sale in Nld, does anyone know if the fate of the Corneligue (ex Isis) is sealed? I understand she remains arrested awaiting scrap / further sale?

Thank you.

Remembered when Peter Barc was on the Burhou I in 2005.
Peter was often active on the Groninger Kustvaart Forum,
with lots of funny stories..

Here with a parrot as guest aboard...

Frans, is the Cornelique still in the same position in Gravendeel under arrest, much longer and maybe she will head to Ghent for cutting up?

Thank you!

Charles, I was in the area in late July. Whilst crossing over Hollands Diep (on A16), I spotted the "CORNELIGUE" at a berth/yard between Moerdijk and the bridge. Sadly, there was no way of photographing her at the spot. "BURHO" (though she still has "BURHOU I" on her bow) was seen at Ridderkerk, the following day; on the berth she has been on for well over a year, amongst the other vessels being marketed by Dick van der Kamp.
