Northport has the vessel Kota Darjah arriving 1 November to discharge containers from Lyttelton and sailing for Tauranga. She appears to be in Port Moresby at the moment as Gazelle Coast IMO 9436874. She traded to NZ in 2013 as Southern Cross.
Does anyone know what this voyage is about?

Hi Stephen
To fill one of their gaps they have chartered another "Northern" class vessel.
And a problem with Hope Island as needs to remove scum off her hull so has cancelled a number of NZ portcalls, not sur ewhat is happening with cargo on board.
Cheers
Brent

It appears that the Spirit of Melbourne is to return to Maersk's OC1 Service as a replacement for the Balthasar Schulte, which was recently sold to Borealis Maritime.

Hi. It might be the beginning of the long talked about dedicated coastal feeder service that Tauranga & Timaru have had in mind. Maybe the little helper Swire-Pacifica see some merit in offering the right sized vessel SoC to the Maersk-Hamburg group to relieve some pressure off the the OC1 vessels that do move boxes around the coast especially to/from Tauranga. Even our business feeders north on the OC1 vessels ex Timaru to transship over Tauranga to Aust. Still things can stop as quick as they start so we'll see what we see over the coming days.

Hamburg-Sud today issued a press release confirming this new coastal service operated by Spirit of Competition connecting Timaru to Lyttelton and Tauranga. A weekly service will include double-calls at TIM presumably feedering Asian containers over Lyttelton, then returning to TIM for containers to west coast North America to connecting at Tauranga. Wasn't clear on start-up date though Spirit of Canterbury did berth Auckland today showing destination Lyttelton.
