Thanks for that Feed-Back Simon,Did you get some photos on Her departure ?My photos of the RIO's are on Marinetraffic. The Port Chalmers and surrounding locals have been complaining also of the thumping noise, they have tried limiting there stay overnight by bringing them in the next Morning making it one night instead of two,all i can see happening is they are getting further behind in their schedule, the next one BRAVO was already in Napier when De Janeiro was at Chalmers, but she sat off the coast down near or past St Andrews most of the day after leaving Tima's.
Regards;Wayne

Sounds like the Rio class Timaru trial was succesful and regular calls will start soon. Pacifica will be acquiring a new coastal containership but unclear if a replacement for the Spirit or a second vessel.

Is there anyone in the shipping industry that has any information on Pacifica's plans?

Hamburg-Sud have now announced that the Maersk Southern Star service will call weekly at Timaru from July. This comprises the 5,900 TEU "Rio" class, currently going through a drydocking programme with Maersk Launceston drafted in as cover while the vessels rotate through.
The Triple Star vessel Clifford Maersk has suffered main engine issues and will omit Tauranga next week.
Seasonal adjustments and a docking programme to instal scrubbers to comply with 2020 fuel emmission law changes will result in blank sailings on the MSC Capricorn service. However, ships on the New Kiwi service will make extra portcalls to maintain coverage during the period.

Does anyone know where the Kaipara Karrier IV has gone? She was last seen at Northport's Upper Harbour but has sailed from there after repairs. Huh
