why? - deletions for entering wrong category

Why do they delete photos if the photographer misses the naval category? How difficult is it for administrators to rectify this category and not to delete it?

It is very simple I have seen photos of very good photographers that have been deleted because they do not correctly put the corresponding naval category, that is to say, at the best a bulkcarrier has been classified by the photographer as a general freighter and for that minimum error the administrators delete the photograph.

It is definitely not our policy to delete photos just because a mistake has been made in the category.  Many Admin spend time correcting these errors.

As Adrian has noted if any member feels that an image has been unreasonable deleted, they should reply to deletion email that he sends, which automatically goes to the Webmasters for investigation (or contact direct at [email protected] with the details).  If it is accepted that a mistake has been made, the member will be invited to reload the photo.

(I have modified the title of this thread to show what it is about, and moved it from Shipping News)
