Visited local tech shop earlier today (June 29) to try and get a better understanding of the
current problem that has plagued this site since June 5. My tech guy confirmed both malwarebytes and Norton programs “running on all 12 cylinders”, so we drilled into malwarebytes program and in the exclusions section added Shipspotting site. Unlike previous attempts I can now access
Site home page on PC, however, when trying to “log on” to upload photos or open forum page, the Malwarebytes program kicks in and blocks me
from further access within site....
As legitimate as this sites’ current software program may be (without https), reading what some of the other members are reporting to date, isuggests to me there still contains loopholes or vulnerabilities that can be exploited rendering site unsafe...
And yet, I notice other members uploading on a regular basis. It makes me wonder, what have they done to circumvent issue
that I can’t seem to do (in order to access site to upload etc...)
As indicated above, even managing exclusions in malwarebytes does not seem to work.
Don’t know what more I can to do to get around this issue.
(Will go back to the shop again next week and try something different).
In the meantime I am asking again, has a time line been established as to when site moving over to https...?
Or provide update as to when site expect to clean out malware.
