In the summer of 1971, I made a couple of sailings on the Greek-registered ferry that maintained a scheduled service between Ancona, Italy and Haifa, Israel, with stops at Brindisi, Corfu, Athens, Rhodes, Limassol and Famagusta.
The vessel had a swimming pool; did not carry vehicles, but motor bikes could be loaded via the gangway.
Fares (including daily breakfast, lunch and dinner and shared cabin accommodation) were incredibly cheap. I paid, for example, for the full three-day voyage between Ancona and Haifa, $78.00. For my motor bike I paid an additional $15.00 for a total of $93.00.
The fare between Haifa and Athens, via the two stops at Cyprus and Rhodes was $36.00 (again with the room and board).
I have posted a rather poor photograph (from a faded 1971 vintage colour slide):

Does anybody recognize this vessel possibly under another name...
Thanks.
