Pont-Aven hit by gaint wave
« on: May 23, 2006, 10:12:32 PM »
Hi to all

I'm surprised this story has not yet been put on site, as it's been in all the British newspapers on Tuesday.
From what the press said, the Pont-Aven, which belongs to Brittany Ferries, was enroute from Plymouth to Santender, when she was struck by a 40ft - 50ft wave in the north of the Bay of Biscay, at around 10.25pm on Sunday, 21st May, sustaining damage to forward windows, flooded cabins & six injured persons. She was diverted to Roscoff for repairs.

Regards to all

Karl

It WAS rather 'choppy' at sea then. I was on the Legend of the Seas at the time. We heard of damage to another ship but did not know the name
regards Glencairn :-) :pint:
