Archer class training vessels
« on: April 25, 2017, 10:30:11 AM »
Yesterday & today, fourteen Archer class training vessels have left Portsmouth, spent a couple of hours in the Solent and then returned to their berths. Whats the occasion?

I believe they do this perhaps every 2 years or so. Whatever the reason, it was a great sight to see as they all trooped out of Portsmouth. I haven't counted them all yet but I think 2 or 3 didn't make it back to Portsmouth, possibly having headed back to their home ports. At least 1 disappeared West down the Solent, possibly to Southampton, possibly to the Needles.

Thanks Kelvin, I was hoping to try and get down today but it wasn't to be  :(
I did notice three of them south of the Isle of Wight earlier on AIS
