Full Screen
« on: April 13, 2017, 09:53:40 AM »
Is anyone having problems when trying to view a photograph on full screen?

When I click on 'full screen' the image looks squashed. This has just started to happen over the last week.

Thanks Pieter. I will see what other people say so I will be patient.

However, I have just checked using Google Chrome and all appears to be fine.

My usual browser is Safari on an iMac.

Hi Stan

I use Chrome with Windows 10, and have never encountered the problem you describe.

Perhaps it is, or was, a Safari on an iMac issue

I'll check with other Safari users to see what they say - or perhaps post a question on Apple Support Communities.

I have since posted my query on Apple Communities to try to resolve this slight problem.  I will keep you posted as to any outcome.

John Grace: I'm using 10.12.4 and can't understand why I am seeing a cropped photo version.

Stan, I am no tech wizard but would suggest that you try out a recent development from apple (I don't know why they did it as there are other ways of achieving the same effect). Apple recently introduced the ability to have two windows open at the same time each taking half the screen. This is controlled by use of the round green button the top left of the toolbar. If you place the curser over the green button you will see two diagonal arrows appear inside the green button. Other than that I would suggest resizing the window using the curser on the edge of the current "live" window. The zoom control from View in the toolbar is also worth trying. If all else fails all I can suggest is keep trying different approaches as the are so many different ways of achieving the same end result. With Apple stuff I often find that the solution is so simple once it is found. Good luck.

John - I have had lengthy discussions with Apple Support, yesterday and today, and they are continuing to look into this issue which is also effecting other websites I understand. I must have been on the phone for at least three hours in total with Apple getting into my machine and trying various options and I'm pleased to say that the problem on my side has been rectified.  :)

Stan, good to hear that things have been sorted for you. It looks very much like my suggestions were abysmally short in assisting.
