I've seen a report on a local forum that Black Rover may be leaving Birkenhead for the breakers on the morning of Monday 13 March.  Regards.  Barry

No tug yet Peter.  I'll keep an eye on ais.  The source on the other forum says he's heard that she will be preparing to leave her berth from 7.00 a.m.  High water on Monday is at 11.49.  Barry

No - I haven't seen any mention of the tug's name.

Only one on the move that I can see is DIAVLOS PRIDE, off Tor Bay - but she is showing for Las Palmas.

Diavlos pride came for the orangeleaf , so maybe she could be on her way , or could something local take her ?
Is there anything big enough on the Mersey to do the job ?

Apparently not DIAVLOS PRIDE - she is on the move again for Las Palmas and appears to have a tow from Antwerp (interesting to know what it is, though)

[later]
Now reported MTS VANQUISHER, which has just arrived Birkenhead, will take her to Portsmouth

Just looked at the DIAVLOS PRIDE from the cliffs at Teignmouth.  She is out in Lyme Bay 16 mls SE of here and has a barge with container cranes on it.  I'm presuming that as she came from Antwerp it would be part of the de-commissioning of the MSC Home Terminal at Delwaidedok.

Best regards

Tom

MTS Vanquish is the tug.  She's now in Birkenhead with tow lines attached to Black Rover. It is reported that this tug will take Black Rover as far as Portsmouth and they will enter the Mersey at around 10.00 a.m. tomorrow.

It is reported that MTS Vanquish is returning to Birkenhead to collect the RFA Diligence also bound for Portsmouth en route to the breakers.
