The second batch of 5 X 14,000 teu ships for long term charter to Evergreen are under construction by Imabari shipyard, Japan.
(The first batch of 5, chartered in from Costamare, have been delivered & are in service)

The information, translated from Japanese, leaves me unsure which exact shipyard are building the ships. Imabari bought out Koyo Dockyard in 2014 and renamed it Hiroshima Shipyard of Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and I think that this is the yard in question. Perhaps somebody knows different?

Hull No. 2566 IMO 9737503 TBA
Hull No. 2565 IMO 9737498 TBA
Hull No. 2563 IMO 9737486 'TOLEDO TRIUMPH'
Hull No. 2562 IMO 9737474 'TOKYO TRIUMPH'
Hull No. 2561 IMO 9737462 'TAMPA TRIUMPH'

Good photos - click on the link and then explore by hitting on the EVERGREEN and/or IMABARI tags.
Alternatively copy the URL for the page into Google translate and read it in English.

Good that you post about these ships Rick, I have a question about this batch.
On the following link (Japanese website):  http://shipbuild2.exblog.jp/tags/CONTAINER/
there are actually 9 (nine) names to be found.
Besides the three you already mentioned there are
Taipeh Triumph,
Tacoma Triumph,
Tianjin Triumph,
Texas Triumph,
Toronto Triumph and
Tahiti Triumph.
Now to my knowledge this was only going to be a serie of five ships and not nine.
The three names you mentioned can be seen on various pictures so they are confirmed.
Any info about extra vessels, my Japanese is not very good so can't figure it out in the text.
Cheers,
Roy

Hi Roy, well spotted.
Having spent some time in Japan and being able to order a beer, a toothbrush and a taxi in Nipponese, I can reliably inform you that the author of the article states that those extra names are pure speculation on his part!
We'll see how accurate or lucky he is, when the two nameless ships get their monnikers.
Perhaps we'll see 'Tranmere Triumph'?    :D

Regards, Rick

Hi Rick,
Didn't saw your link at first look, so you're looking at the same website and must have noticed the other names.
Cheers,
Roy

IHS agrees with you Rick on the yard - Imabari Shipbuilding Co Ltd - Mihara HS (Hiroshima Shipyard) - and lists only the same five for Evergreen.

Hi all,
It's my website(http://shipbuild2.exblog.jp) and those names from Taipei to Tahiti are only my speculation as mentioned.
I sometimes visit Imabari shipbuilding Hiroshima Shipyard for taking photos, so I can find the chosen names later.
