FEHN COAST
« on: August 18, 2016, 04:47:01 PM »
Help wanted.
What is the status of coastal vessel FEHN COAST, IMO:8814471 , 1989 , callsign PJFZ , flag Dutch Antilles.
Last seen july-8-2013 on the slipway of Naval Shipyard in Gdynia (Poland).
Since that time no longer on AIS.
Equasis gives in service and reported sold.
Marine Traffic gives decommissioned or lost.
Maybe laid-up or scrapped, who has more information.
Thank you in advance.

Regards
Ren

Hello Pier Master,

Thank you for your answer,
I presume than, that Fehn Coast still exists and is laid-up somewhere.
Hopefully one of our Polish members in the Gdynia area ,can give us an answer.

Fehn Coast was at the Gdynia shipyard for conversion to a fish-feed carrier for Norwegian interests. The project should have been completed by now, so perhaps there was a problem...

Phil,

Thanks for your answer.
It is for the first time that I have heard about a conversion to fish-feed carrier.
I have looked in the NIS Register, by search on IMO number, but no score.
I also have sent a personal message to the photografer in Gdynia, who made the last know photo of Fehn Coast on the slipway of Naval Shipyard in Gdynia on july-8 2013,but till now no answer.
So FEHN COAST is still a "Mystery Ship "

Regards
Ren

Hello,

On august 18 , I asked for your help in the search of more information about mv FEHN COAST.
I came in contact with the former German owner and he gave me the information
On may-17,2013 the ship was sold to a owner on the Faroer Islands.
Was taken out of class ,so no IMO anymore and removed from Dutch Antilles flag register.
Main engine ,gearbox, shaft and propellar were removed.
A fishfood mixing plant was installed in the cargo hold.
She was renamed SKARVHAMAR and on sept-19,2013 towed from Gdynia by the Danish tug Odin to the Faroer Islands
Arrival was on sept-25,and later on anchored on a steady position in a fjord next to the fischfarms.

Best regards
Ren
