The problem came back on my iPad this morning (05h00, eastern time). A lot of rubbish flashed when I tried to check another picture of this site. I closed Safari, cleared the historic and it started all again when I tried to get to the Shipspotting site. I even got a porn add in the lot. I then closed my iPad. I just tried before writing this post and all was ok.

Yesterday, August 12, 2016 about 2 p.m. UTC, I opened Shipspotting.com website with my Tablet Galaxy Tab A T555.

First I have read the Latest photo comments and then wanted to check the Top3 photo, and have normally clicked on it.
Instead of the photo, appeared an "unusual site" ( or maybe it was an advertisement or what ever it was).
I wanted to return again to Shipspotting.com via Internet connection ( I use Google).

Then came a really GREAT SURPRISE/SHOCK for me!
I received a message from Google (for the very first time, I have never before received such a message from Google).
The message warned me:
4 virus detected on your device T555.
This is a serious matter, need to be immediately fixed by Google Playback with the Free application (click step 1 and step 2).

I activated the Free application and much fortunately for me, I recognized this morning 13/08/2016, that the virus problem is seemingly fixed ( I really do hope it is !! ), due that the "virus warning" has disappeared from my T555.

Best regards to all, and I do wish you not to ever experience the problem I had,
Jadran

I do not know much about computers but having had this problem for a few days now I can say that it is not affecting my iPad all the time. It is only Shipspotting that is affected so far and it only affects my iPad (iOS 9.3.4) and not my Mac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.6). On the iPad when I have this problem I can visit another site, possibly two or three, and it seems to clear the problem. I would estimate that I am affected by the problem for about half the time I want to use Shipspotting. Hope this helps.

The problem has returned to my iPhone 6, intermittently.

First the shipspotting.com heading, then a series of advert headings, then an offer to win a new phone

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately the problem is back. I have reported it to Henrik and I will keep you updated as best I can. Like last time, it may be a couple of days until the problem is fixed.

Best Regards
Cody

Thanks Cody, I noticed yesterday the return of the problem. It seemed to have slowly fizzled out over August. If it is any help I now go onto the site using the forum and move on from there, it seems to be the home page that gets the problem.

I do the same as John

"I now go onto the site using the forum and move on from there, it seems to be the home page that gets the problem."

The Home page then works OK
