On the contrary, these four young people will probably have matured much more rapidly than most of their age.
This is not some octogenerean making his 50th attempt to sail round Britain in an unseaworthy bathtub, knowing that he will need the RNLI yet again.

Was the organisation of the voyage fit for purpose?  That's another question.

The question is what maritime authority issues permissions, licenses and other documents for such crossing of the Atlantic. Remembering rescuing two-men rowing boat in Atlantic some years ago, when we found the boat crew asleep, and boat adrift in the middle of the night, moderate seas and good visibility. Their VHF was muted (

I have to wonder what would possess them to row across the Atlantic at this time of year, just when the weather is at it's worst.
