Regular calling Maersk Brani has suffered damage in a collision in the Panama area while on the southbound leg of her Maersk OC1 service between east coast North America and New Zealand / Australia. She has been diverted to Manzanillo Panama where her container cargo was discharged and is now awaiting a survey of her condition. Maersk then re-scheduled Olga Maersk that was on a northbound leg of the same service to terminate at Manzanillo, discharge her onboard cargo for transshipment to their final destinations, and then backload Maersk Brani's cargo for New Zealand and Australia and resume that voyage. There was no information regarding the other party involved in the incident.  The Maersk Brani is a veteran of 35 voyages to New Zealand since 2010, 31 on the OC1 service to the USA, with the remainder to Asia early in her career.

The container ship "Max Schulte" IMO 9676711 is due at the Marsden Point general wharves on 22 March 2017. Anyone know the reason for this? I can't find any schedule for her.

Thanks Aaron. It's unusual to use a cellular container vessel on a general cargo run. I wonder how they will handle the steel and timber cargoes with the cell guides.

At Ports of Auckland 14 to 22 March there are 9 car carriers due to unload. The car transporters will have to work overtime to clear the backlog. According to Ports of Auckland there are a total 0f 24,500 cars due to be unloaded in the month of March, I believe this is a record.....Where do they all go?

Southern Trader is going out to anchor at 2030 today, 11th March. There is no departure date for here on Ports of Auckland website. Anyone know of a problem with the vessel? Her previous port was Tauranga which is an unusual call for her.
