Saturn Becomes Orcadia
« on: April 18, 2015, 08:04:10 PM »
The 1978 Caledonian MacBrayne Car Ferry SATURN (IMO 7615490) retired from her long service on the Firth of Clyde in Scotland on 30th August 2011 and immediately put into storage.

After some four and a half years of idleness at Rosneath Jetty on the Gare Loch , she eventually found new owners in the form of Pentland Ferries Ltd. She was towed across the River Clyde to Dales Garvel Dry Dock for an overhaul on February 25th 2015. She was officially renamed ORCADIA in April 2015 and her working life will be extended as a freight carrier with some ferry cover in the Pentland Firth in Orkney and will hopefully see her 40th year in service.

She finally left the Clyde on April 22nd 2015 for her new life in the North.
