Aboard the world's largest container ship, MSC Oscar
« on: March 10, 2015, 01:10:25 PM »
I'm glad to report that the video I shot aboard the mighty MSC Oscar as she lay alongside at the Port of Felixstowe on her maiden call is now online on the video page of this site.

The most outstanding feature of this ship visit was the opportunity to go to the engine room - most lines don't seem to want you to go there, although every engine room I've visited aboard modern ships has looked clean enough to eat dinner from the floor! MSC Oscar's is no different, and I found it seriously impressive.

Hope you enjoy it!

Glad you enjoyed it - the only tough bit was working between 7am and noon to do the edit and write and record the voiceover!

Thanks for the feedback - although many of the video clips I make on Shipping TV get lots of views, I don't often get good quality feedback from people who understand what they're looking at on YouTube!

I've got more projects in hand for opening more ship and shipping topics for us all - but sometimes, its hard going!

Just an old CX550, which I bought years ago, essentially because its imagery and colour rendering matched very nicely with the broadcast cameras I was most using at the time. Good wide-angle, good image stabilisation, too.

Also use a Go-Pro and might upgrade to a Sony HXR-NX30E later this year.
