Hi all,
It is now possible to log in and post in the forum.
Photographers - don't worry, your photos are safe =)
A bit of information about what is going on:
We had a server crash on the main web server. Unfortunately we weren't able to switch to the backup-system due to upgrades needed, which wasn't possible to perform without upgrading most of the third-party software we use. This all required larger upgrades for the whole system and rewriting a lot of site code.
As you know we increased redundancy and stability a lot the last years. Photos and data is secured, but we still have some things to do, to always be online in case something like this happens again. We will start working with this once everything is back online.
The photo upload and a few more features will be locked until we're sure they are stable. This to not risk messing anything up. Also the contact/email system will be locked until it's secured properly.
Obviously you have our deepest apologies for this!
Ken will keep you informed from now on.
Regards, Henrik

Hey, I remember this place! I used to come for my daily charge of ships before the total blackout of the site!

To all involved:
No doubt the work involved in getting the site back up and running is tedious and unrewarding. May I offer up a big "thank you" for your efforts.
Clearly the site is a labor of love, and as new user, let me say how much I enjoy shipspotting and how much I appreciate the work that you put into it.
