Dear Andreas,

am a Lover of Sietas vessel and have been for a while Captain on one of them(small coasters)
The vessel that i was captain was the one in your .pdf file mentioned as Maryam imo 6611784, Sietas 563.
Am trying for years to find the history of this vessel. It seems that a that time captain owner order a series of 10 sister vessels for a TC between Europe and Canada but so far the second only vessel managed to find was the other Sietas 527, Maged H, imo 6511489.

Do you have any related information of the other coasters of same type built, think it was the type 9 and 9b, ?

Thank you for the very nice work that you have gathered!!!

Andreas, thank you very much for this great piece of work. Will have to dig deeper into the list. Detlefsen's "Register der Trockenfrachter" is an invaluable source, but as the title indicates, no further descriptions of Sietas built tankers, ferries, passenger vessels, trawlers etc.

I was quite happy when I already saw some trawlers listed in your pdf ;D

Cheers,
Jens

Hi,
About the MARYAM mentioned by Capt Tsoukalas and Jens, her hull is visible lying on portside in Port-Tawfik, on Google Earth picture dated 02 Mar 2011, in position 29

Thanks for this photo, Yvon. She must have been removed within the last three years... My Google Earth shows a photo captured on May 31, 2014, and the wreck is gone...

Hi, Andreas,

Can you post a link to your pdf or tell me how to access it.

I have a spreadsheet with approx. 1200 Sietas built vessels going back into the 1800's. It is very much a work in progress, with many gaps for vessels fates etc, as I have not had time yet to research everything. However I'm willing to share what I have so far, if you or anyone else is interested. We may be able to help each other.

Dear Andreas, Dear Jens,

Thank you for the information sent out! It seems like a little light light out there.
Jens on the Maryam, as per my previous comment was a captain for a while, actually taken delivery as 'KATHE' renamed
To 'ZAKINTHOS' and deivered to Egyptian ownwers who renamed her to 'WALAA' so i still remeber her...insight-out, lovely
Vessel!
I tihink that Willy Eckert  was the one -am not sure if it is a someone's name or a company, that order the 10 type 9 vessels to
Sietas.
Just a little remark, the 'ANNA BECKER' is not of type 9, the two identical vessel that i have found so far was the above mentikned KATHE
and the MAGED H, which believe they are both of the same type. The 'ANNA BECKER' is a different older design.

And yes Jens, i know the 7 seasvessels site, its true that whatever information quoted here found from this site.

I thought that i could found somewhere a book or a more dedicated site(....German on at least) more accurate for the best(..for me)
Shipyard!!

Thank you both,

Hi Elias,

you're welcome. I don't know about ANNA BECKER. I took the information from Gert Uwe Detlefsen' book - Die Typschiffe der Sietas Werft/Register der Trockenfrachter - where she is listed as type no. 9. There was another ANNA BECKER but she was a type 81.

By the way, the above mentioned book may be of interest to you.

All the best from Hamburg
Jens
