Vietnamese naval ships and Chinese vessels have collided in the South China Sea.

The incident happened as the Vietnamese navy was trying to prevent the Chinese from setting up an oil rig in an area claimed by both nations. The incident is the most serious between the countries at sea in years, with dozens of boats now in the area.

The incident came as Philippine police seized a Chinese fishing boat and detained its 11 crew in another disputed part of the South China Sea on Wednesday.

China Blames Vietnam of intentionally colliding with its ships.. but called for talks to end a bitter row sparked by Beijing's parking of a giant oil rig in contested waters.

If it is right or wrong and more important who is most probably, hard to tell but one thing is sure, the Chinese give a s..t what the world thinks because they know protests will be limited. If for example the US would do that with a Mexican oil rig in the Golf of Mexico, the whole world would roar and storming embassy,s . when China does it like lately in Chinese Sea with Japan/Phillippines/Vietnam or Russia with Ukraine,,, a bunch of hollow political statements and big meetings with paper results at best and no effect.

NOW!!!,,,if we could get rid of the sailors,,how safe shipping would be !!!!!!!!

And now China is blaming the US of emboldening Asian nations in their territorial disputes.

China also claims sovereignty over almost the whole of the South China Sea, which is also claimed in part by Taiwan, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines and is believed to sit atop vast oil and gas deposits.
