Tradewinds is reporting that Sinokor's laid up LNG carrier EAST ENERGY (ex-LNG PORT HARCOURT, ex-NESTOR, built Chantiers de l'Atlantique, 1977) has been sold for scrap for scrap to India for green recycling at USD425/LDT or USD13.2 million. If I remember correctly, she and her sister GASTOR (now WEST ENERGY, also with Sinokor and laid up as well) were fixtures in one of the Scottish lochs for years and years.

Great work as usual, Robbie.

I see almost no container vessels, and Chittagong is obviously experiencing a drought...

Cheers

Thanks Vlad,

Yes the container traffic seems to have dried up and now its the oil industry Tankers, Rigs, Fpso, & Standby safety vessels. a lot reefers arriving at Alang while Aliaga scraping rigs & Gadani scraping ore carriers & tankers, The work seems to have dryed up for Chittagong .

  Cheers Robbie .

Hi Friends,

2 days ago I visited all scrapping yards in Chittagong. It was my 3rd trip. You are right.
I haven't looked at all of my pictures but i think I have as containerships only seen:

MSC Mandraki IMO 8613310 1/2 scrapped
Tian Xin ex Ville de Mars also 1/2 scrapped

in October there were 3 LNG perhaps this one I saw 2/3 scrapped was left

some Glovis Ro-Ro Carriers,  2-3 Ro- Ro Ace and the Frisia

a lot of Tankers.
newest and largest delivery OS Arcadia 298.960t.
one other marked as VENTO makes a lot of trouble. When I came he lays 90 degrees to the others and unbelivable when I went a lot of people 200 (?) really try by hand to bring her to the sand back!!!!!

2-3 cabel layers (?)

one FPSO i have to check a new one or left from October.

and a lot,lot of other vessels from all over the world.
Greetings

Peter

I'm far away from the sea to Hamburg I have a longer distance as to Venice or Genova.
My favorite is the Suezchannel, Panamacannal  and since 2006 also Chinese harbours. I've a lot of pictures and I don't show them because here at shipspotting.com is a copyright problem

Good day
der All,
I want to share good sources to check what vessels were scrapped:

1) Aliaga http://aliagadenizcilik.gov.tr/gemi_sokum.aspx , updated if vessel is scrapped or all docs are signed
2) https://shipandbunker.com/news/features/risk-management , updated 1 time in a week

It is open sources and with good updates.
