Oasia sailed from Gibraltar towards Suez and onto its final destination today.

Forgive the ignorance on the matter, but is it getting scrapped? That would be very sad.

Not being scrapped but Saga Ruby, renamed Oasia, by its new owner

Well, that's better news than I hoped for.

That lovely vessel visited my hometown several times as the "Vistafjord" then as the "Caronia" and one time in her last name in 2008. "Saga Ruby" was scheduled to vist February 2013 one last time but then you must know what happened, so the World Cruise was shortened.

With the regretable loss of the "Saga Rose", also a frequent visitor, I was convinced this one would suffer the same fate.

I remember that I passed her on her Maiden voyage in 1973 between Stavanger and Hougesund in Norway. Lovely ship and beatiful lines.
