New video series shot inside London Gateway port
« on: June 11, 2014, 09:55:26 PM »
For the first time ever, Shipping TV was given free rein inside a modern container port for a 2-art series looking at how modern container terminals operate. The first part, looking at the way boxes are handled on the landside from road and rail, is online on the video page now; the second part, dealing with the mega machinery on the quayside, will be online soon.

Just for the record, I can tell you that standing on a pierced metal deck at gantry level on one of Gateway's cranes is a seriously interesting experience to someone with a touch of vertigo!

2nd part of this special now online, filmed on London Gateway's quayside on Tuesday, 10th June 2014.

My strongest impress of the whole place? Just how few humans you could see on the quay an on the stackyards - hardly a soul in sight.

Find it on the video page now.

Glad you enjoyed them - and fascinating to film, too!
