Can someone throw some extra money & make me the 1:1 replica of the EMPRESS OF BRITAIN?

One of the most fascinating multifunneled liners ever build!

Denis

Hm, I thought of another project, Normandie might be a little too big for a start... What about the second ship of Hapag's Imperator-class, Vaterland? She set a fabulous record, completed on April 29, 1914, for more than a hundred years now she's the biggest passenger ship that ever sailed under the German flag ;D

And Albert Ballin's ships really had style...

@ Denis: Maybe we should speed up the development of 3D-printers! ;D

Why don't we forget about replicas for now and get some old ships that we still have back to sea. It is heart-breaking to see United State's rusting hull forgotten in Philadelphia. Although another SS France/Norway would be nice!!! ;D

Well if NCL: got their hands on their they may ruin her by converting her to suit the needs of the modern passenger, like they did after they had had Norway for 10 years.

Jens, how about we built the Mauritania & Aquitania, both welded together in a catamaran design - surely there will be enough of place for all sorts of entertainment on board, including the monorail & some steam engines for increasing the nostalgia. 8 funnels can be made as real mountains instead of the usual climbing walls.

@Denis, why not make the cars of the monorail systems steam engines? :D

Thanks, Shaun!  Wrote it down!
How do you like the idea of hulls having a glass bottom so it'll be possible to see the underwater wonders? Not sure why no new cruise ship has that feature, so we can be pretty original in our project. Also, I think it would be cool to have hydroplanes on catapults too - way better than that glass ball for overview on that Quantum of the Seas hotel block!

Denis

Cool idea Denis!!! Though I am not sure how effective a glass bottom would be at sea and in dark and murky waters!! Besides, having a fear of crabs I doubt I could enjoy viewing the ocean floor!! ;D ;D ;D

Well, I suppose a glass bottom ship would be great if you can't read tide or depth charts and need to see how close you are to grounding on a reef.

Yeah, no 2nd Costa Concordia then!  And Shaun, I think me & Jens then will have a special group of divers that will be making sure there are no crabs around while you're on a cruise.

Gives me an idea to include a moonpool & a diving bell that would take you to the bottom so you can walk right on sand among corals & sea stars.

Hm, I don't want to be a spoil sport, but slowly this sounds like it's becoming veeery expensive.

And just to mention it... Mein Schiff 3 of course has no glass bottom, but I think some suites have balconies with a glass bottom so you can see the sea 40 m beneath your feet.

Interesting fact Jens. Having one of those balconies would be kind of like standing on the bridge wings of the ship.
