Ship Collision: M/T Maritime Maisie & Gravity Highway
« on: December 30, 2013, 05:07:14 AM »
Collision in the Korean strait between a vessel on sea-trial Gravity Highway and the Aurora Tanker Maritime Maisie.
All crew ok.
But to state that no cargo was spilled, is for mu not understandable looking at the pictures.

Orient Shipyard in Busan has dubious honour of receiving every casualty from the area...

So, here's the last one, and it seems to me that Orient will be used for temporary repairs only, before the vessel heads to her birthplace for proper repairs.

One more thing, according to COLREG, and available pictures of the vessels involved after the collision, it seems obvious who's to blame...

sad story.
I'm afraid the shipyard crew was too busy with checking performance data while somebody of them should have kept proper lookout and made ample manouevres.
