Don't think it's a Torbulk issue.  TORRENT and SHOREHAM, as well as INDEPENDENT (IMO 8843874, currently arrested at Shoreham) are owned by Independent Shipping Ltd.  http://m.theargus.co.uk/news/10609693.Arrested_crew_of_Independent_in_Shoreham_Port_are____treated_like_slaves___/

Independent Shipping appears to have been insolvent in 2012:

I am not sure where your information sources come from but Dudman has been trading here in Shoreham certainly from April 2013 onwards and are not in liquidation as you state, but were in Administration in early 2013. Throughout 2013 there has been a number of Dredgers and Coasters that have berthed at their two wharves in Shoreham discharging Marine Aggregates and stone the latter from their Quarry in Porthoustock. December 2013 saw AIS log 4 coasters (discharging stone) and 1 Dredger (Marine Aggregates). Recently (on 15 Jan 2014) MV Martin discharged a load of stone from the abovementioned quarry. November 2013 saw AIS log 3 dredgers and 2 coasters.
Basically, Dudman had financial problems and to cut a long story short was put in Administration in January 2013.
Dudmans sourced the cargoes for Independent Shipping, the owners of Torrent, Independent, Shoreham, Cementina and Thames, these ships laid idle at their then ports of call in January 2013. Thames and Independent at Shoreham, Shoreham at Santandar, Torrent at Rye and Cementina at Howden dyke, where they were then arrested by the Admiralty Marshal for non payment of debts: fuel crews wages etc.
March/April 2013 saw Cementina released from arrest and sailed to Ghent. Thames was also released from arrest and sailed from Shoreham with a new crew to Ghent. Both ships were seen berthed in early September 2013, at the Van Hyghen Recycling wharf, Ghent awaiting demolition.
In monitoring AIS broadcasts from Shoreham which was under arrest at Santandar, these transmissions ceased in late December 2013, (IIRC 19/20/21) and the latest intelligence is that she is awaiting demolition. Thus leaves Independent at Shoreham which was moved from one of the Dudman wharves in March 2013 to the Outer Lay By. Torrent is at Rye, both still under arrest. It has been a year now since these arrests has been made and it is likely that the Admiralty Marshal will order the sale/demolition of these ships as their debts remain unpaid.
Interestingly an Internet based auction organised by the Administrators, of all the Dudman plant and equipment at all of their sites, with all bids was scheduled to end in early March 2013. The auction was pulled 3 days before closing date, and none of these assets were sold, which implies that other negotiations were done to get Dudman back working again.
Send me a PM for a more fuller version of the story!

Many thanks for the info about the companies side of Dudmans, I was aware of some the issues regarding the group problem but my view was confined to the fact that we should be more interested in the overall position and effects on the Independent Cos ships, which are basically being sacrificed as a result of a cash flow problem within the group that caused late payments of tax to HMRC.

Torrent according to information that I have has been her name changed to Eems Delta, and flag changed as has been previously stated. She was under arrest and since a year has passed with no settlement of the outstanding debts, has been sold on instruction by the Admiralty Marshal; being surveyed recently and purchased by Exe Shipping (of Devon). She was broadcasting on AIS until 23 February 2014 with her new name, but these transmissions have for now ceased. I understand that she is scheduled to sail in February/March 2014 to Teignmouth.

Independent which is still under arrest at Shoreham on the OLB has also been sold, following a sealed bids auction, recently and it is thought to a recycling company. Whether or not she will be moved under her own power or by tow remains to be seen. Gent is thought to be the likely destination to the Van Heyghen Recycling yard.

I think that they are "resting", having sold EXE OTTER (IMO 8810748) last October.
Hopefully their website will go live soon: http://www.exeshipping.co.uk/

EEMS DELTA looks like a charter to Rederij Chr Kornet & Zonen BV, Werkendam.

latest update.

Eems Delta (ex Torrent '14) left Rye Harbour yesterday morning 26 February 2014 bound for Teignmouth.

I cannot pick up any AIS broadcasts from her on AIS, and I am using Marinetraffic.com. Any offers?

No further news about Independent.

Information concerning Shoreham at Santander, Spain,

She was scrapped locally in December 2013. Her AIS transmissions were switched off sometime on 19/20/21 December 2013.

Still awaiting news that Independent has been sold for scrap and when she will move.

EEMS DELTA arrived Teignmouth and her AIS is on again.  Teignmouth port list has her due to sail to Landskrona (no date)

Independent is reported to have been sold recently and may sail under her own power or be towed out of Shoreham Harbour soon. The initial rumours were that she was to be scrapped, although later reports are that she will be going to a new owner. Now her AIS was switched off on Sunday 13 April 2014 at about 7.40am, so movement is awaited.

In the meantime the Dredger Thames currently based at Gent is reported to have been sold to a new owner. Again this cannot be verified... yet.

This would mean that 3 out of the 5 ships of Independent Shipping have found new owners, whilst Shoreham and Cementina have been scrapped.

If anyone has any further information I am sure that we would all like to know.

Intersetingly Dudmans continues to receive cargoes of stone from Porthoustock and Aggregates from Dredgers. Last month (03/2014) nine shipments (4 stone, 5 aggregates) were discharged onto their two wharves at shoreham.

Dredger THAMES arrived at Van Heyghen Recycling, Ghent, April 2013 for scrapping. Whilst I can't confirm that she's been turned into a pile of scrap metal, I'd be very surprised if she was sold on for further trading.
