Sailed yesterday (Friday) afternoon to anchorage off Rotterdam. Ready for a quick dash when a berth becomes available. Has anyone any idea what sort of cargo she might load? An awful lot of refined products will fit in TI Europe! Surely she will not take crude OUT of Rotterdam? Perhaps she will take a part cargo.
Montego now out of the way.

Gotta dash indeed because RPA stating 12:00 Maasmond pilot, meaning 14:00 Calandcanal berth 80. Will load fuel oil out to Far East.

There's no way that TI Europe or any other VL/UL for that matter could carry clean petroleum products. She'll be loading heavy fuel oil, similar to crude.

Over the past few years we've seen here quite some large tankers loading fuel oil for the Far East. Sometimes the carriers discharged crude oil from the Middle East first, to load on top. Their destination is given as Singapore. The material is mostly supplied from Russia by smaller tankers and transshipped at the Calandcanal buoys. Often a top-up takes place from one of the storage terminals like Vopak or ETT.
The man who addressed Dave on the Maasvlakte today was probably referring to the sulphur contents.

Rgds,
Robert.

The "TI Europe" is loading by inland barges so she'll be here for quite some time. Now berthed at the Calandcanal it's easy to approach her via the Landtong.
Maersk will erect a stand for shipspotters at the Maasmond on arrival of the "M
