UNICO is an old tug built in 1927, not too sure of the location of the Red7 yard but believe its on the River Thames.

RED7's base is just beyond Tower Wharf, before the sand jetty Ken.  There are always barges sat off there, and the odd workboat in on the wall. Best seen from the water though, I have walked to it a couple of times, but it is a trek and a half, and photographs are not brilliant.

It's over a 4 mile round trip for me on foot (done it a few times), but with the weather forecast this weekend, doubt I'll chance it!

Made the trek this afternoon down to the yard. This appears to be the only evidence left of her at the yard.

Krispen, they didn't hang around in tearing that apart! Well done on getting shots from up so close, didn't think that would be possible in this day and age. Yes John, she was delivered to Union Lighterage in 1927 and stayed with them until bought by T.J. Palmer & Sons, Gravesend in 1971.

Best Regards

Tragic loss.  Wasn't she the oldest working Thames tug?  Revenge is 1948 and still working.  Any others older than that now?

I have written a brief history on UNICO here
