Maersk reorganises NZ to South East Asia service
« on: May 28, 2013, 12:08:24 AM »
Maersk are doing a major reorganisation of their NZ1 South East Asia service.
From mid July there will be two strings from New Zealand to Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas.
Five vessels will service Nelson, Wellington and Tauranga.
They are:
Jeppesen Maersk
Irenes Reliance
Josephine Maersk
Oluf Maersk
Jens Maersk
Five 2001 built sisters of 50,721 GRT will service Auckland, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers.
They are:
Leda Maersk
Laust Maersk
Lica Maersk
Laura Maersk
Lexa Maersk
These vessel will all head to the "Repair Yard" before entering service.
This means that Maersk Juan, Maersk Jambi, Maersk Jubail, Maersk Jaipur, E R Malmo and Nicolai Maersk will be exiting the service.
This also means that Maersk will be leaving the WCNA service they presently share with Hamburg Sud, and all containers will be transshipped over Tanjung Pelepas.
