Brilliance of the Seas - lay over at Port of Felixstowe.
« on: May 10, 2013, 08:15:09 AM »
Unconfirmed, but I am very reliably informed, that Brilliance of the Seas - IMO 9195200 - is currently scheduled to lay over at container berths 8 & 9 at the Port of Felixstowe on Tuesday 14 May for up to 30 hours.
Vessel is currently being drydocked for upgrades and general repairs at Cadiz, Spain.
However, the vessel's next scheduled cruise is due to commence from Harwich on May 27.
Something doesn't quite tally up with the dates, and I will add more info, as & when I hear it.
Regards, Rick

Interesting one! Looks as if 8/9 is clear for the time with China shipping's Xin ou zhou not due in til 19.00 on the 15th, but Brilliance is actually booked alongside on 14th and 15th May at Harwich International, which is probaby a more appropriate berth for her - and that berth looks like its otherwise clear until 21st May.

"Brilliance of the Seas" is out of drydock today.
Thanks Alan, for her updated cruise schedule.
More talk today of her being at Felixstowe's berths 8&9 on Monday now....
Wait & see I guess!
I will follow her progress on AIS

At the time of writing, she's steaming north just about to pass Oporto in Portugal. Her AIS is pointing to Harwich, which seems like a more likely destination. I can't say that in 10 years of shipspotting at Felixstowe I've ever seen one on the container berths in use as a  cruise ship layby . . but I'll have the video camera charged up in case she does come here!

Berthing at 0900 Monday 13/05 on berths 8&9 @ Felixstowe...till 1900 the same day. I guess this could still be subject to change, but that is the sitrep at the moment!

I am not too sure about any of the above.
She is due in Southampton 07:00 on 14th May, departing for (allegedly) Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Sweden, Harwich at 17:00.
Well, at least that is according to the Southampton cruise ship schedule.
According to the usual movements schedule, she doesn't appear here at all!
Royal Caribbean don't seem to know anything about going to Southampton either, advertising their first cruise as departing Harwich 27th May. None listed before that.
It's all a bit confusing!

Despite being still listed internally (not on the Port's website though) as berthing at Felixstowe tomorrow, her ETA of 0130 hrs on 14/05/2013 does make me think that she will got straight to Harwich instead....unfortunately.  :-[

Interesting - just went to the viewpoint to film Celebrity Infinity sailing, and discovered that Felixstowe have parked 2 cranes at one end of 8/9, and the rest at the other end . . leaving 500 or 600 metres of clear quay side, with no overhead obstructions!
