HAV SHIPPING
« on: April 01, 2013, 06:56:38 AM »
Just an observation that there are currently 8 vessels from the HAV Shipping fleet anchored/moored on the Thames/Thames Estuary: Arctica, Celtica, Danica, Germanica, Icelandica, Nordica, Swedica, and HAV Snapper.   The only vessels missing from the smaller members of the HAV fleet are: Atlantica, Baltica, Britannica, and Iberica.

They are involved with the carriage of spoil from the London Crossrail project to a reclamation/landfill site at Wallasea Island, Essex.

The Germanica has been laid up just outside Bow Creek for weeks now.    I believe a dispute in the contract has caused the project to stop.  GPS Marine have taken over for now.

Five HAV boats moored in a very orderly line off Southend. But Arctica is at Barking wharf, does this indicate the contract has restarted.
Just round the corner Nathalie seems stuck in Barking creek, or is she supposed to be where she is?

I hadn't heard anything about the contract having been stopped. They're still coming and going from Wallasea Island.

Hav Germanica was seen outbound at Greenhithe on Saturday, my understanding is they are doing the Mucking run with spoils from Crossrail.
Regards
Ken

I think you mean Germanica Hav. And isn't it Thames Water spoil that is taken to Mucking rather than Crossrail spoil?
