Hi guys,
What a story! When Phil De Fayre posted his post on the 3rd of January I went to see the text and photos that were posted in the shipfax blog. I was looking at the photos of the damaged hull on the Port side of the ATHABASKAN and suddenly had a flash. I remember seeing some dents and rusts spots on the ship while it was in transit before what happened in Nova Scotia.
It is possible that the actual damage is 'less severe' than what it first looked like.

Good eye Steve!
I'd say those scrapes are probably from a lock- they look similar to what is seen on the seaway max bunkers that pull in to halifax. The rest of the slices seem to be the result of the tug impact

Tugs OCEAN DELTA and ANDRE H. are on their way home. They are upbound near Mont-Joli.
