Not totally unexpected, but very sad indeed. I guess she was hard to sell to a trading buyer, because:

-She is very specialised (very big day boat, no cabins AFAIK)
-She must be pretty worn out by now
-The market for 25-year old ships like these is very bad these days (the traditional buyers like the Greeks have all but disappeared from the market).

Let's hope her sister PRIDE OF CALAIS does find a good home!

As to the destination of the PRIDE OF DOVER, I'm putting my money on Aliaga. All recent P&O scrap sales (EUROPEAN TRADER, NORCAPE, EUROPEAN MARINER) have gone to Aliaga.

The strange thing is that all P&O markings on the ship have been painted out, whereas all other ships have been sent to Aliaga by P&O went there in full livery.

It's sad that she is going to the breakers but as you say, it was to be expected

That is too bad Trans Europa Ferries did not get her. I would think Aliaga too since the last few P&O ferries have gone there. But now that you say that all of P&O markings on the ship have been painted out make me think she may be off to a bad place like Alang. I really hope the PRIDE OF CALAIS get a new job.

Hi,

P&O Ferries have reported on their Twitter feed that the Pride of Dover has been sold to "German interests", who will move her away from Tilbury (where she has been laid-up for the last two years) for repairs. There has been no mention about what those German interests are planning to do with the ship, but the former Seafrance C
