SLEIPNER - Mary Rose Trust
« on: November 02, 2018, 03:43:06 PM »
Dose anyone know any details about the vessel that assisted in the raising of Henry VIII's flagship Mary Rose from the Solent in 1982, her name was SLEIPNER?

Only saw her once at a distance in fog :-(

Thanks ChasB46, first time I've seen her name on a website.

The above view of her was cropped from the background of a family snap taken from an IoW ferry.

She was built as Admiralty lifting craft LC.14 by Tees Side Bridge & Engineering Works Ltd, completed 1 Sep 1942. [from Dr Ian Buxton]

Thanks David, I've searched on and off over the years and found absolutely nothing about her, now a picture is forming.
