Thames tugs
« on: August 10, 2012, 03:21:04 PM »
Hi,

Anyone know why the two Thames based Targe Towing tugs CASTLE POINT & STANFORD are in Tilbury Dock? They entered the dock yesterday afternoon and have been alongside since with intermittent  AIS signatures.

Regards

Bob

The HEMIKSEM is now based in the Firth of Forth and the SMIT AHOADA is no longer on Targe's
fleet list. She has been renamed SMIT BELGIE.

Yup, sold to Svitzer.
Handover next week.

So far as I know, they are being allocated to a container terminal in Morocco.
Although there is a rumour that the Castle Point is heading to the Tees.

And CASTLE POINT is now leaving Tilbury dock bound for the Tees.

Both CASTLE POINT & STANFORD left Tilbury dock still in their Targe Towing livery.

Stanford now in Felixstowe and will operate for Svitzers, replacing the Svitzer Melton, which apparently is being redeployed to Avonmouth.

If you want the original high-def photo, just email me and I will send them to you. If I am still here when she gets here new livery then I will also post my photos.

Cheers,

Dan.
