Following info found atHartman M2Runner - Shipkits bv. This looks like a versatile but ugly concept !

Brgds,
Rob.

 ???

"The Netherlands based Hartman Marine Group BV has developed, in close cooperation with Vuyk Engineering and Conoship, a brand new concept.

This vessel, named Hartman M2Runner, is characterized by a surplus of load capacity in the holds, as well as on the tween decks and also on the hatch covers itself. Gross tonnage is just below 3.000 GT.

Typically, this vessel has a a asymmetrical wheel house and accomodation, which enables the vessel to also load odd and long sizes.

Momentarily the first and second, out of a range of 3, are under construction at our yard in Stettin, Poland. Shipkits BV will build this casco based on her proven 'plug & play' concept.

Our scope consists of the building of the complete hull (based on Centraalstaal building kit) included installment of the steering gear, rudder stock, rudder, propeller and propshaft, steel outfitting, piping and a complete paint program.

The first Hartman M2Runner will be delivered to Hartman Building BV in Urk, around mid April 2012. The second will be delivered in Q4 2012."

Hi, Adam & Robert!  Much obliged for the provided infos! Thanks!

I'm still wondering what kind of crane they will install on her, or will it be just a hatch cover crane? And where will be the funnel?

Speaking of radical new look, these are the pioneers:

Denis,

There is a marked difference between those old ships and the "Oceanic". They were designed purely as heavy-lift carriers and, apart from the positioning of the superstructure, they bear little resemblence.

The "Oceanic" is a modern, multi-purpose dry cargo ship. There is no crane pedestal or mount, so clearly she is not going to be geared, let alone a heavy lifter. She has a single box shaped hold which will be accessed from a single hatch and, one assumes from the description, a portable tweendeck (obviously neither yet fitted here). The design clearly lends itself to the carriage of wind-turbines but like all modern MPPs, it is assumed that she will also be suitable for bulk, breakbulk and containerised cargo.

Maybe it'll be small gantry crane for hatch covers and tweendecks handling?

Does anybody seen some drawings of final outlook of this vessel? The asymmetric, small superstructure suggest that the ship is designed to carry extremely long cargoes, significantly longer then wind turbine's blades.

Are the exhaust pipes located on both ship sides, beneath the stern thruster marking, in front of grey rectangle?

Evening everyone,

I thought for a moment that the White Star Line had been relaunched (pun intended) with the choice of names for these vessels...
