This particular issue was already a Forum topic at one time....

If I recall well, "your pic" needs to be of very-very small size!! in any case, to be able to upload it (something like 30x30 pixels if I'm not greatly mistaken in the mentioned numbers).

Best regards

Leon,, I will try to answer only one part of your set queries,, in this way, as simple as I can:
In 1999 the Sea Land Services Inc MOTOR SHIPS were transferred to Maersk whilst the TURBINE SHIPS remained with CSX later Horizon Lines;
This is just a brief reply,, best regards,

Hi Jim!
Hans is one of the most active contributors of the site.

Sad to confirm that A. J. de Graaf (also known by his shorter name Hans) passed away this August 2016

People who well knew him are saying:
He was a good and generous person and a humanitarian.

Hans de Graaf was also an active member of this esteemed website Shipspotting.com where he posted his 1626 photographs.

R.I.P

This information is submitted with much sorrow, Hans was almost my "neighbour",
Jadran

Hi to all,
I am personally always for a 'positive' proceeding, therefore, with my good will, I remain to fully support the Photo category "Ship's Lifeboats and Tenders" as herewith introduced by davidships.
My best regards to all the site members and administration,
Jadran

9  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: "Shared" photos on: September 16, 2016, 06:45:39 am

Today 16/09/2016 at 06:45 a.m. we had the following situation:
On the 1st page of "24 hours" there are '10 out of 12 photos' from the same Photographer member including all the 3 photos in the Top3 Most Popular.... these photos are all being "shared photos" >> and this is already now becoming very boring >>> and is KILLING the interest towards this website.......

Actually, on Top3 and 1st page of 24 hours, we have a "photo album of shared photos" posted by the one Photographer........ truly, I don't know how to comment this!!

11  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Most Online Ever: 1144 on: September 11, 2016, 01:53:48 pm

I have just noticed on FORUM: Users Online (statistics), the following:

Most Online Ever:  1144  ( September 08, 2016,  10:57:27 pm )

I wonder, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN ?

Because:
- Within the whole recent period, the Most Online number of members (Login) range abt. 90 - 115  members per day;
- Before this "1144 Top Record" which was now set on the day of September 08, 2016, the previous Top Record was set on the day of September 16, 2013 and was 356 Most Online Ever !!

Best regards to all members of Shipspotting.com,
Jadran

I have a question (my ignorance):
Who, or what subject, can activate/make connection to the SHARE application to be active ??

Thank you in advance for an appropriate explanation,

13  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Minimum resolution 768 x 768 pixels is not working on: August 13, 2016, 09:07:07 am

Site standards that apply to all photos:
1. Size of image: The resolution must be between 768 x 768 pixels and 4000 x 4000 pixels, and the file size maximum is 4MB.

If you try to post a photo of 768 x 768 pixels >> IT DOESN'T WORK !!

You receive a message on the uploading screen, that says:
Photo resolution should be between (1024px x 768px) and (4000px x 4000px)

Can the minimum acceptable resolution 768 x 768 pixels, as per the latest/refreshed site standards, be made to work in good order !?

Kind regards /Jadran

14  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: Problems with Mobile Device Usage of Website on: August 13, 2016, 06:30:01 am

Yesterday, August 12, 2016 about 2 p.m. UTC, I opened Shipspotting.com website with my Tablet Galaxy Tab A T555.

First I have read the Latest photo comments and then wanted to check the Top3 photo, and have normally clicked on it.
Instead of the photo, appeared an "unusual site" ( or maybe it was an advertisement or what ever it was).
I wanted to return again to Shipspotting.com via Internet connection ( I use Google).

Then came a really GREAT SURPRISE/SHOCK for me!
I received a message from Google (for the very first time, I have never before received such a message from Google).
The message warned me:
4 virus detected on your device T555.
This is a serious matter, need to be immediately fixed by Google Playback with the Free application (click step 1 and step 2).

I activated the Free application and much fortunately for me, I recognized this morning 13/08/2016, that the virus problem is seemingly fixed ( I really do hope it is !! ), due that the "virus warning" has disappeared from my T555.

Best regards to all, and I do wish you not to ever experience the problem I had,
Jadran

15  Shipspotters all over the world / Site related news, functions and modules / Re: What is the purpose of YOUR posting on shipspotting.com on: August 07, 2016, 11:44:08 am

Within the beginning period of my membership to this site ( I have joined on 20/12/2011), I was regularly commenting photos on the site (maybe some times too often, and maybe sometimes even too much).

Once, the Webmaster Mr. Ken Smith contacted me by a PM.
His PM to me was in overall very polite, however, stressing exactly these words:
Why don't you sometimes post your photos and let other people comment them!

I explained to Ken, that I don't posses any photography equipment, and moreover,  that I'm a pensioner, and can't afford myself to buy any of such !!

Nonetheless, Ken insisted several more times: Post your photos .........
Finally, I gave up with my resistance, and bought myself a simple compact camera Nikon COOLPIX S9300 in January 2013.
That's how started my photography & photo posting opus on this website ..........

My very best regards to all the members of this esteemed website, and especially to the author of this topic Mr. Tomas Ostberg-Jacobsen, and of course, with a very special respect, to Mr. Ken Smith,
Jadran
