Two Italian mariners were taken into custody yesterday after days of speculation.  The Caption of the ship has claimed that he "did not know" of the shooting.  Crew is hired by the Dolphin Shipping who owns the ship while mariners are deployed by Italian Government.  Please see the news here:

In India the legal system is too sluggish.  No court case comes to an end easily.  They keep on postponing month after month.  Probably the Judges here do not like to finish off the cases.  Where was your friend arrested?  Where is he now?

Enrica Lexie, an Italian crude oil tanker, was involved in a shootout with Indian fishermen.  Armed  self defense crew of the ship mistook the fishermen for pirates and opened fire, killing two on the spot.
